Old Glory has found yet another Argentinian to add to the 2023 roster: Marcos Young, a US-qualified winger. The 24-year-old is originally from Houston, Texas, but moved to Miami and played for Key Biscayne Rugby Club, a heavily Argentinian and Uruguayan influenced team. He started young, playing youth rugby and receiving national attention in high school. In 2016, he was picked for the USA u19 squad and in 2020 he joined Rugby ATL's academy, Pathway 404. He then moved to Argentina, joining URBA Top 14 team CUBA. In the 2021-2022 season, he played a ton for his club with 22 matches, 21 of them starting, for a total of 1617 minutes on the field. He also scored 4 tries.

Like most talented players, Young played a variety of positions in youth rugby, starting at scrumhalf before moving to flyhalf in high school and into the centers for Pathway 404. For CUBA, he played exclusively at wing, which is where he will likely slot in for Old Glory as well. He will have stiff competition, though, with Mike Dabulas and Peni Lasaqa impressing last year and John Rizzo looking promising as an up and comer. Still, there's plenty of time to be had, especially if he can prove himself useful in a variety of roles.

It's never bad to have another domestic option on the team, especially one as talented Young. He will provide a bit of depth in the backs, especially given the number of foreign players coming in to the back line this year. I'm hoping to be impressed.
