Facundo Gattas, the Uruguayan international who played just two matches for OGDC before picking up a season-ending injury, is coming back for another season. The 27-year-old hooker was on the up, having played for Penarol in SLAR before coming to Old Glory mid-way through last season to fill the gap left by Mikey Sosene-Feagai. He looked good in his two appearances and it's good to see him taking another shot with the team.

Ordinarily I would be diving into the Gattas's stats right about now, but with just 52 minutes played, there isn't a lot to go off of. While technically a re-signing, we really don't know a lot about him yet. He was a strong runner and seemed eager to get stuck in quickly, so I'd really like to see what he can accomplish in a (hopefully) injury-free season.

Interestingly, there is more of the Hindú pipeline that has seen Tito Díaz Bonilla and Lautaro Bavaro signed in the past couple weeks. Gattas has played for the URBA Top 13 team, which competes in the top level Argentinian amateur rugby, since 2017, overlapping for four years with Bavaro, although not with Díaz Bonilla. He may have had some hand in their recruitment, and will at least have a good connection with his new teammates.

This signing has been expected, since Gattas himself hinted at his return in social media posts, but it's still good to see it made official. Old Glory will need a reliable hooker if they are to exceed last season's disappointment, and Gattas seems to be just that.
